I can hardly believe it, but I am now the mother of a 5-YEAR-OLD little lady! We got back from our trip to Utah the night before Olivia's birthday, but life had to go on! I stayed up til almost 3 in the morning decorating and then the next day it was ALL OLIVIA ALL DAY!
Since Jordan had to work, it was just Romney and me celebrating with Olivia during the day. We took her to the McKenna Children's Museum where she got to pretend to be a doctor just like Daddy and all sorts of other professions. It was a fun time and she had a blast. We went home and met up with Jordan and decided to take Olivia back to the restaurant that we had went to last year for her birthday. Capparelli's Italian Food and Pizza didn't disappoint! Olivia loves their pizza and they even remembered her from the previous year.
Olivia's H-E-B store cake!
A spirograph because Olivia LOVES making designs
Olivia claims Wonder Woman is her FAVORITE superhero right now!
A barbie doctor for babies!
Olivia loves her new Ariel dress!
Grandma Holli and Grandpa Dave have been waiting a long time to give Olivia this present! She LOVES her Frozen tea set and uses it all the time!
She has told us it was her best birthday EVER, but the fun didn't stop there. We love to celebrate and Olivia wanted to a have a friend birthday party, so we invited a few of her new friends over for a Minnie Mouse themed party! Here's her invite:
Hot Diggity Dog! Olivia is turning 5 and wants to celebrate! Come on over and have some fun inside our clubhouse as we put on our mouse ears and cheer for Olivia! Your parents can drop you off and we'll feed you lunch so come hungry and ready for a good time! Remember, "Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional!"
This cake had me nearly in tears the night before the party! The frosting I made was too runny and my rosettes were running down the side of the cake. It reminded me of the scene in Sleeping Beauty when Fauna tries to make a cake and it's falling over. Fortunately, I didn't have to start all over and I was able to salvage it, but a cake decorator I AM NOT!
The girls decorated bows from Minnie's Bow-tique to use for the game "Pin the Bow ON Minnie"
Outside we braved the heat and played a fun game of Minnie Mouse Hopscotch
For lunch we had pink lemonade, Hot Diggity Dogs (pigs in a blanket), Cheetos Puffs (Olivia's favorite) and grapes! The girls also made necklaces to accessorize!
Present-opening was a joy and Olivia was so grateful for the candy lei necklaces, mermaid barbie, and dress from her friends! Thanks ladies!
Names of friends left to right: Chelae, Sylvia, Olivia, Aubrey, Lillian
Olivia said that when everyone sang to her was her favorite part and that she couldn't keep from smiling! She was so happy to have her friends over to celebrate!
Party favors included strawberry laughy-taffy, Minnie Mouse sticker books, Minnie Mouse cups, lip gloss and bracelets! The girls seemed pretty happy about their goodie bags, and we were so happy to have them over!
For Olivia, making friends has always been pretty easy, but it's never easy starting over and we're so grateful that she's already made some cute friends to play with! My wish for Olivia is that she can have friends who love her and lift her up, encourage her to be a better person, and make her feel special. Jordan and I are so grateful to be this 5-year-old's parents and we can't wait to see what this next year brings to our little girl! Happy Birthday Olivia! You're one special gal!
P.S. I can't believe that I have no pictures of Jordan at the party, but I will say that I could not have done it without this man behind the scenes! He helped me with EVERYTHING and I'm so grateful he was able to be off of work to make Olivia's party a success!
